Some St. Louis bars, restaurants will only allow vaccinated guests indoors

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Your options on where you can sit to eat and drink at some bars and restaurants will now be limited based on your vaccination status. At least one bar says it will "mandate" proof of vaccination be shown to enjoy a drink indoors.

Bengelina Hospitality Group, which owns 10 St. Louis-area restaurants, including Nixta and Bar Limón, Elaia, Olio, La Patisserie Chouquette, and The Benevolent King, made an announcement on Thursday about its new policy. The letter shared on Facebook says only vaccinated guests will be allowed to dine indoors.

"If you are not vaccinated please do not make an indoor reservations. Outdoor dining is still available for unvaccinated guests," the letter reads. "If you’re not feeling well, please do not come to our restaurants."

All of the restaurants have patios and outdoor gardens for guests to sit in.

The Tower Grove East bar, Apotheosis Comics and Lounge, it taking it a step further and requiring proof of vaccination. The bar will "require proof of vaccination (plus a valid ID) to sit at our bar or to take off your mask to enjoy a beverage inside our store. If you do not have proof of vaccination, you can purchase your drinks to go, or you can enjoy them outside on our patio."

The Gezellig bar in The Grove also posted a message full of frustration on social media about people who aren't vaccinated.

"Delete. Unfollow. We dont care. You are ruining things for the rest of us and we are fed up," the post stated:
