The federal prosecutor in St. Louis has released the secret video tape that led to the conviction of the Jefferson County prosecutor who admitted having sexual contact in his office with a woman who wanted help fixing her traffic tickets.
The video, apparently from an iPhone in the woman's purse with a partial view of the room, captures then-JeffCo Prosecutor James "Ike" Crabtree, meeting after hours in his office in March of 2021 with a woman in trouble.
He asks her if she's wearing a wire, then says they can probably try to "work something out." The 40-year old Crabtree then starts kissing the 28-year-old and asking her to take off her clothes.
Crabtree pleaded guilty in August, and was supposed to be sentenced this week, but it's been postponed. He faces up to six years in prison and $350,000 in fines when he is sentenced December 7th.
