A proposed medical marijuana store in Des Peres could come up for a vote Monday night before the town's board of aldermen.
At the strip mall on Manchester a few blocks east of Ballas, Carl Reineken owns a paint store, and he's concerned about the type of people it would attract to the mall. "I just feel like it may be a step down. Q: Do you think it would be bad for business? I do think it would be bad for business, personally."
But others, are okay with the idea. Rick Gains was going into a hair salon next to the proposed store. "Ever since I went to college people have been smoking weed, a lot of people think it can do good health things for you."
Des Peres Aldermen have been reviewing proposed restrictions for the permit, including keeping the dumpster locked and reporting anyone who smokes marijuana on the property to police.
