The liquidation of what's left inside Chesterfield Mall takes place this weekend. That includes clothing racks, display cases, shelves, cabinets, trash cans, bar stools, benches, check out counters, and more.
Auction company Piddle Crick will kick off the first of several sales events this Saturday and Sunday in the former Famous-Barr, later Macy's. According to the Business Journal, Piddle Crick is based inside the mall and specializes in selling unique and difficult to find collectibles.
The mall will eventually be demolished and redeveloped by the Staenberg Group into Downtown Chesterfield, a $2 billion mixed use development.
President Michael Staenberg previously told KMOX News he was hopeful that Dillard's would remain as part of the Downtown concept and move into the former Macy's building. He also said they're talking with several groceries.
