ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - A Washington University's comments on the war in the middle east have cost him his job.

On his now deleted account on X, formerly known as Twitter, Dr. Seth Crosby posted that he has been fired by the University over his posts about the war.

The firing stems from a reply to post claiming Israel was engaging in an ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. Crosby called it a "much needed cleansing," adding it is not an ethnic one because, "Israel is not targeting humans."

In a follow up post, Crosby tried to explain his post, saying that Israel is not targeting Palestinians but instead Hamas.

Crosby said an apology cannot make up for what he did, adding he had lost his job over the posts. He said in a separate post he believes that in addition to being fired he will be kicked off of the social media site.

Crosby has since deleted his social media account.

Crosby was the director of collaborations at the Washington University School of Medicine and held various roles during his nearly two decade tenure at the school.

Crosby's roles included directorial positions at the university, including director of partnerships and alliances, director of the genome technology access center, and director of translational research, according to his LinkedIn page.

KMOX has reached out to Washington University for comment.
