WEBSTER GROVES (KMOX) - Five schools in the Webster Groves District are in "lock-out mode" as police look for one of two suspects wanted for dragging a police officer after an alleged theft.

The suspect was the passenger in a vehicle that dragged the officer about 20 feet when it backed into him as he approached their vehicle near a business at Manchester and McKnight Roads.

After the passenger jumped out and ran the driver drove off eastbound on Manchester Road.

Rock Hill, Bristol, Ambrose, Givens and Hudson schools are in lock-out mode as a precaution. The district says all students and staff are safe, and the lockout will continue for the rest of the school day until dismissal or until the suspects are caught.

The officer was taken to a hosptial with minor injuries.

This is a breaking news story that will be updated.
