ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The first and only live music stadium show happening in St. Louis this summer has been canceled. The St. Louis Cardinals confirmed that the Aug. 13 show featuring Zac Brown Band and Sam Hunt has been called off "due to unforeseen circumstances."
The news comes of the same day that the team announced a new face mask policy at all games, which will require fans to wear a mask in certain areas of the ballpark. It follows a new mask mandate announced in the City of St. Louis on Monday, which requires face masks for everyone age 5 and older in all indoor public spaces.
Here's the full statement provided by the Cardinals:
"Due to unforeseen circumstances, the August 13th Welcome Back STL concert with Zac Brown Band and Sam Hunt has been cancelled. Refunds will be available at the point of purchase. We regret any inconvenience this change may have caused."
The show was titled "Welcome Back STL" and tickets went on sale on July 15. It would have been the first time Zac Brown Band played in Busch Stadium.
