KANSAS CITY – A New Orleans-area woman has been arrested in connection with the death of a Kansas City sports anchor in New Orleans.

The Kenner, Louisiana, Police Department said Danette Colbert of Slidell has been arrested and charged with property crimes, including fraud and theft-related offenses, in connection with the death of Adan Manzano.

Manzano, sports anchor for KGKC Telemundo Kansas City and Tico Sports, was on assignment in New Orleans for Super Bowl 59 when he was found unresponsive in a Kenner hotel room and ultimately pronounced dead.

In a news release, police said security video from Manzano's hotel shows Colbert with Manzano on the morning of Feb. 5. It also shows her leaving his room alone later that same morning.

Colbert was reportedly caught using a credit card belonging to Manzano at several stores in the New Orleans area.

Police said her arrest record includes allegations of drugging men, theft of currency, fraudulent use of a credit card, and other financial crimes.

Police are asking anyone who may recognize Colbert and have information on her involvement in these crimes to contact the Criminal Investigations Division at 504-712-2222.
