ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The Missouri Tigers football team might've not caused chaos Saturday in Athens, Georgia, but the team's success this season is still seeing a wide impact on attendance at Faurot Field.
Mizzou Athletics announced that the team's game against No. 17 Tennessee Volunteers on Saturday, Nov. 4 has been sold out.
The sell-out will mark Mizzou's fourth consecutive sellout at Faurot Field for the first time since 1980 according to the program.
Attendance Issues was a problem for the team heading into the season. Before the team sold out their game against Kansas State on Sept. 16, the team did not have a sellout for nearly three and a half years. The team's last sellout heading into the season was their 2019 Homecoming game against Ole Miss on Oct. 12, 2019.
What a seen as a factor for Mizzou's recent attendance success is the on-field performance by the team, with the team being ranked 12th in the College Football Playoff Rankings heading into their tight loss to the Georgia Bulldogs.
The Tigers will now have another ranked matchup Saturday against No. 17 Tennessee Volunteers, which will pit the team against former Mizzou Offensive Coordinator and now Tennessee Head Coach Josh Heupel. Mizzou is 0-2 in both games they have played against Tennessee since Heupel became the Volunteer's Head Coach.
Mizzou ranked matchup game against the Volunteers will kick off at 2:30 p.m. with the game being seen nationally on CBS.
