One person is dead and several others are injured after an apparent stampede at a concert venue in New York.
Police said a concert at the Main Street Armory in Rochester, featuring rappers GloRilla and Finesse2tymes, was just ending Sunday night when the incident occurred.
According to CBS News, the crowd began to frantically push toward the exits "following accounts of individuals hearing what they believed to be gunshots."
Ambulances transported three people to the hospital. One victim, a 33-year-old woman, later died. The other two are listed in critical condition, CBS reported. The victims were apparently trampled as the crowd surged to leave the venue.
Seven other victims arrived at the hospital with non life-threatening injuries, WROC reported.
Police said an initial investigation determined a shooting did not occur inside the venue, and that none of the victims suffered gunshot wounds.
An investigation into what caused the incident remains ongoing.
