Democratic candidate for governor of Texas Robert 'Beto' O'Rourke is trending on social media for his sharp but profane response to a heckler at a town hall meeting in Mineral Wells.
O'Rourke was discussing gun laws and the military-grade weapons available to the public in regards to the deadly elementary school shooting in Uvalde when an alleged supporter of Governor Abbott was heard laughing, and Beto wasn't having it.
"It may be funny to you, (expletive), but it's not funny to me, okay?" O'Rourke said quickly. The crowd of supporters immediately sprang to their feet, screamed and gave him a standing ovation. That clip now has millions of views on social media.
After the speech, O'Rourke tweeted, "Nothing more serious to me than getting justice for the families in Uvalde and stopping this from ever happening again."
O'Rourke continues his swing through North Texas with town halls in Decatur and in Fort Worth. O'Rourke was recently in Cleburne, where he told his supporters he knows he's the underdog, but with their help he can win.
