Shooters Grill, a gun-themed restaurant in Colorado owned by Representative Lauren Boebert, has closed its doors for good.

A sign appeared in restaurant's window this week saying, "Thanks for the support. Stay tuned. #Covfefe." "Covfefe" is reference to a 2017 Twitter gaffe by former President Donald Trump.

Reports indicate the new landlord refused to renew the lease.

"We were like a family," Boebert told the Post Independent, which first reported the closure. "It's been an amazing journey. I don't regret anything. It's always sad to close a chapter. But this is where we're at."

Appropriately located in Rifle, about three hours west of Denver, the eatery had a gun theme with servers packing semi automatic weapons on their hips and items like a "Guac Nine" burger on the menu.

The restaurant drew national attention in 2014 after pictures of its gun-toting waitresses circulated on Facebook and made headlines.

"The customers love that they can come here and express their rights," Boebert told the Post Independent at the time. "This country was founded on our freedom. People can come in carrying their gun, and they can pray over their food."

"I consulted with my Christian friends and everyone said 'Shooters' sounded like a bar or a strip joint," she continued. "But I thought, this is Rifle — it was founded around guns and the Old West. We called it Shooters and started throwing guns and Jesus all over the place."

Boebert tried to negotiate with the new building owner but was unsuccessful, according to the Post Independent. She also said the only way to keep Shooters Grill open was to purchase the building.

"There wasn't really much wiggle room or anywhere to compromise unless we bought the building ourselves," Boebert said.

While this is the end of the line for Shooters Grill, Boebert and her husband will be attempting to keep the brand going, though they have no definitive plans in motion yet.

"We would just dramatically scale it back, because, obviously, we're not in our building," she told the Post Independent. "It may look like a Shooters coffee shop with pastries and some easy breakfast sandwiches and merchandise."
