NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Dole Fresh Vegetables is recalling all Dole-branded packaged salad bags due to a possible listeria contamination, according to a notice published by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

The voluntary recall includes private label packaged salads produced by the company at its Bessemer City, North Carolina and Yuma, Arizona facilities.
According to the FDA, the facilities have suspended operations to conduct an extensive cleaning and sanitation protocol, out of an abundance of caution.
“The decision to suspend operations and recall all products from these facilities was made after analyzing the strain of Listeria monocytogenes isolated in a single package of Dole-branded Garden Salad produced in the Bessemer City facility and a single package of shredded iceberg lettuce produced in the Yuma facility,” the company said in an announcement.
Products subjected to the recall are identified by a product lot code beginning with the letter “N” or “Y” in the upper right-hand corner of the packaging and will have a “Best if Used By” date between Nov. 30, 2021, and Jan. 8, 2022.

Customers who have any of the products in their home are advised to discard of them immediately.
Recalled salad items from the facilities were sold in about two dozen states, including New York and Connecticut.
Dole said no products manufactured in its Ohio or California facilities were affected. Additionally, no other products – including “ready-to-eat” salad products, fresh fruit and field-packed fresh vegetables – were affected by the recall.
Dole has advised retailers to check their store shelves to ensure no recalled products remain available for purchase.
If consumers have any questions about the recall, they are advised to contact Dole’s Consumer Response Center at 800-356-3111, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. PST.
