Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric Davis announced that a settlement has been reached between Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems as the two parties narrowly avoid going to trial.

Davis shared from the bench on Tuesday afternoon that “the parties have resolved their case,” MSNBC reported.

The full details of the settlement have not been released, but Dominion lawyer Justin Nelson says it involves $787.5 million.

The defamation lawsuit against Fox News involved its reporting of Dominion Voting machines and the role the media outlet accused them of playing in alleged voter fraud.

Davis has now dismissed the jurors, sharing that their presence was “extremely important” and that “the parties would not have been able to resolve their situation” without them before they were released.

While the case was closing up, Davis offered praise for both the legal teams, saying that during his tenure as a judge, they showed “the best lawyering” he’s ever had, CNN reported.

“I would be proud to be your judge in the future,” Davis said before he departed from his seat behind the bench.

"The truth matters, lies have consequences,” Nelson said.

The case is now over.
