A video of what some are calling every parent's worst nightmare has surfaced, showing a 6-year-old girl in Kentucky being dragged by her school bus for 1,000 feet while the driver remained oblivious to what was going on.
The incident occurred in 2015 and is now expected to be shown in Jefferson County Court as part of a civil suit against the driver, Melinda Sanders, and the school district.

The video, first obtained by WAVE-TV, shows the little girl getting off the bus when the doors closed on her backpack.
The little girl frantically tried to get the bus driver's attention, but the driver took off, dragging her by her backpack.
The video also shows a student standing next to the bus driver, but he, too, did not notice the girl's tiny body being dragged. At one point, the bus made a left turn, and cars could be heard honking trying to get her attention; however, she remained unaware.
The driver can be seen turning her head towards the door multiple times throughout the video, but she continued not to notice the little girl. Finally, after telling a student to sit down, she appeared to see the little girl and stopped the bus quickly.
Following the incident, the driver was promptly fired by the school district.
The little girl has gone through multiple surgeries and reportedly is suffering from severe nerve damage and PTSD. The family is suing for unspecified damages.
