A Florida man is facing charges after an anonymous tip led wildlife officers to five young alligators in his bathroom.

Robert Lee Robinson, 38, was issued a criminal citation for personal possession of wildlife without a permit, according to an incident report obtained by WOFL.

Officials say Robinson intended to keep the gators as pets.

The reptiles appeared to be just over a foot long and were being kept in the bathtub, according to reports. It's not clear how long Robinson was harboring the animals.

Robinson admitted to investigators that he caught the gators in a pond at a park near his home in Saint Cloud, about 25 miles south of Orlando, according to WOFL.

A spokesperson for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission  told WOFL that the animals were seized and then released into the nearby Lake Tohopekaliga.

Under Florida state law, capturing alligators or their eggs is a third-degree felony that can land someone in jail for up to five years.
