Former Pirates closer Felipe Vasquez has been deported from the United States to Venezuela.

ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations out of Philadelphia removed full name, Felipe Javier Rivero Blanco, of Venezuela on December 1.

Vasquez was convicted of statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, indecent assault and 10 counts of child abuse material.

Vasquez was arrested in September 2019 and sentenced to two years in prison in August 2021.

He was ordered early this year to be deported from the United States. He was taken into ICE custody in September before he was finally deported.

The 32-year-old is a two-time All-Star and pitched in Pittsburgh for four years before his arrest.
