Thanksgiving season has begun in the U.S., so one roofing company has decided to give back to its customers with free turkeys and free… AR-15 rifles.

Customers need to get a new roof in order to receive the complimentary turkey and gun.

“Everybody needs an AR-15,” said Jason Polly, president of Roof EZ, according to a WINK report. “Every homeowner needs to have an AR-15 to protect their family, and everybody thinks it stands for assault rifle. It doesn’t. It’s [an] Armalite rifle, so I know we’re gonna get some kickback on, ‘Hey, you’re giving away AR-15 guns?’ Well, we’d like to promote gun safety for your entire family.”

AR-15 rifles have developed a reputation for being dangerous weapons due to their use in several mass shootings. They were developed in the 1950s as lightweight weapons for the U.S.
Army.

Patti Brigham, president of Prevent Gun Violence Florida, said that the offer is a “destructive thing to do,” and that it is “adding to a culture of gun violence,” per WINK.

Polly also called the deal “the most Florida thing you can do,” according to WESH, and said that he was inspired by another company in Alabama.

Roof EZ posted about the special deal on its Facebook page, WINK said. However, it appeared that someone reported the post. By Wednesday – the day the special started – the company posted about it again, slightly blurring out the “AR-15” component of the deal. They’ve also posted memes about the offer.

“Someone must’ve reported our post… but don’t worry, the November special ‘Roof and Gobble’ is still going!!!,” the Cape Coral, Fla.-based company said. Those who qualify are required to pick up the firearm at Shoot Center in Cape Coral, and they are required to obtain it by fulfilling legal requirements, according to WINK.

A writeup about the special in the Daily Kos said “it doesn’t get any more MAGA than this,” referring to former President Donald Trump’s loyal “Make America Great Again” supporters.
