The incident at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds was confirmed by Berea Police, WBNS reported.

The boy was walking in front of the haunted house when the incident occurred at 8:15 p.m., according to a police report, WBNS reported.

A family member with the boy told police that the incident happened outside the haunted house when one of the actors, wielding a bowie knife as a prop, approached them.

The actor allegedly attempted to stab at the ground in front of the boy and his family member when he stabbed the boy's red croc, cutting his toe.

The boy's mother was called to the scene while the haunted house workers gave him first aid. His family did not provide any further information on his medical condition.

The staff member who stabbed the boy confirmed to police that he had brought the bowie knife from home and admitted, "it was not a good idea." He also told them that it was an accident.

The worker at the haunted house was let go on Saturday, and the knife was taken into police custody.
