QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA – April 21, 2025 – Identical twins Bridgette and Paula Powers have gone viral after delivering a perfectly synchronized interview recounting a terrifying armed carjacking involving their mother.

The incident unfolded on Steve Irwin Way in Queensland when a stolen SUV flipped, prompting the twins’ mother to rush in and assist the crash victim. However, instead of finding someone in need, she came face-to-face with a gun-wielding suspect emerging from the wreckage.

In their now-viral interview with 7News Queensland, the Powers twins spoke in perfect unison, mirroring each other’s words and gestures as they described the harrowing moment.

> “And one guy, he was up there with our mum… he goes, ‘Run! He’s got a gun!’” they recounted simultaneously.

The twins described their heart-pounding fear as they realized their mother was in danger. Despite the threat, she remained calm, asking the suspect if he was alright.

> “She goes: ‘Are you alright?’ Because he had blood all over his face. And he goes: ‘I’ll shoot you.’ She goes: ‘Hey, I’m here to help,’” they recalled.

In a moment of quick thinking, their mother distracted the gunman before fleeing into nearby bushland.

> “The guy goes to her: ‘I’ll find you and I’ll shoot you,’” the twins said in sync.

Fortunately, both the twins and their mother escaped unharmed.

The Powers twins, founders of Twinnies Pelican and Seabird Rescue, have long fascinated Australians with their eccentric synchrony, previously making headlines for their in-sync interviews on Good Morning Britain in 2016. Their latest viral moment has reignited public curiosity about their unique bond.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the carjacking suspect, who fled the scene following the crash.
