Legendary rocker Jimmy Buffett was forced to cancel a concert this weekend in South Carolina after a sudden trip to the hospital.
In a statement shared on social media, the "Margaritaville" hitmaker said he had to pull the plug on Saturday's show with his Coral Reefer Band in Charleston to "address some issues that needed immediate attention."
"I had a sudden change of plans this week that affected us all," he said. "Two days ago, I was just back from a trip to the Bahamas, thawing out from the California 'winter tour,' and chomping at the bit to get to Charleston. I had to stop in Boston for a check-up but wound up back in the hospital to address some issues that needed immediate attention."
While it's not clear what landed the singer in the hospital, he appears to be in good spirits.
"Growing old is not for sisses, I promise you," he joked.
The 76-year-old also pledged to return to the stage.
"I also will promise you, that when I am well enough to perform, that is what I’ll be doing in the land of She-Crab soup."
The performer went on to thank all his fans for support.
"You all make my life more meaningful and fulfilled than I would have ever imagined as a toe-headed little boy sitting on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico," he said. "Thank you for your prayers and thoughts, your amazing years of loyalty, and just remember, 'NOT YET!' Love to all!"
