Iconic Red Sox radio broadcaster Joe Castiglione has finally found his way to Cooperstown, being named the Ford Frick Award for broadcasting excellence.
The Red Sox Hall of Famer was announced as this year's recipient at the Baseball Winter Meetings in Nashville, Wednesday. He will be inducted into the Hall of Fame during induction ceremony weekend, which takes place from July 19-22.
Castiglione is heading into his 42nd season as the voice of the Red Sox. He had previously been one of the 10 finalists in 2010, 2014 and 2023.
Other candidates included Joe Buck, Gary Cohen, Jacques Doucet, Tom Hamilton, the late Ernie Johnson Sr., Ken Korach, Mike Krukow, Duane Kuiper, and Dan Shulman.
