Musician Kid Rock spoke to Fox News' Tucker Carlson on Monday night in an interview about his friendship with former President Donald Trump, and how golf outings have led to them discussing North Korea and ISIS, among other topics.
Kid Rock told Carlson how he met Trump for the first time at a dinner at the White House thanks to an invite from Sarah Palin, and how that led to the two "becoming buddies."
"Ended up there and becoming buddies, spend a lot of time on the golf course now," Kid Rock said. "It's really weird getting phone calls from him and stuff, it's kind of mind blowing."
He went on to tell Carlson that Trump "knows how to have fun" on the golf course and that the former president "doesn't take it too seriously."
Kid Rock added how their discussions can go all over the place. One time a conversation about maps led to Trump asking Kid Rock for advice on North Korea.
"We’re looking at maps and s**t, and I'm like, 'Am I supposed to be in on this s**t?' Kid Rock said. "I make dirty records sometimes. 'What do you think we should do about North Korea?' I'm like, 'What? I don't think I'm qualified to answer this.'"
On another occasion, Trump asked Kid Rock what he thought about a tweet he was drafting about ISIS.
"I was there one day when he ended the caliphate," Kid Rock said. "He wanted to put out a tweet. And it was like, I don't like to speak out of school, I hope I'm not, but he said something like, and I'm paraphrasing, it was like if you ever join the caliphate and you try to do this, you're going to be dead.
"He goes, 'What do you think of this?' I was like, 'Awesome. Tweet that out. I can't add anything better than that.' Then it comes out and it’s reworded and more politically correct."
Kid Rock added that he and Trump still play golf together, as Carlson asked him how Trump is doing.
"He seems great, he seems great," Kid Rock said. "After the election, you know it was a little different there, but he's still the same guy. He sits down and just cuts it up, just starts cutting it up, it's just how sharp he is, it's incredible."
The interview went on to discuss Kid Rock's "Let's Go Brandon" logo on his Rolls Royce, and the musician even gave his thoughts on Dr. Anthony Fauci and the COVID-19 pandemic.
"F**k Fauci," Kid Rock said.
