Police have captured a 20-year-old Kentucky man accused of fatally shooting his father and grandfather and attacking his grandmother.

Austin Prather was taken into custody Wednesday evening in Evansville, Indiana, roughly 230 miles away from the crime scene in Science Hill, Kentucky.

Police had been searching for Prather after being called to the bloody crime scene on Tuesday night, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting just before midnight and arrived at a home to find 67-year-old Ardyth "Ray" Prather Jr. dead from apparent gunshot wounds. His 65-year-old wife Joann was shot and stabbed but survived and was taken to a hospital for treatment. Her current condition is unknown.

Officers also found blood on the door of a neighboring home and went inside "due to the possibility of other victims and safety concerns." There, they found the body of 43-year-old Ardyth "Trae" Prather III.

Austin Prather, who was quickly named as a suspect, fled the scene before officers arrived. Police say the United States Marshall's Service in Evansville was eventually able to locate him "by use of cell phone technology." He's being held in the Vanderburgh County Jail in Indiana on two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder, pending extradition proceedings.
