LOS ANGELES (KNX) – After Beyoncé announced she would remove a controversial lyric from a song off her new album ‘Renaissance’, Monica Lewinsky is asking for her name to be removed from one of the singer’s old songs.

In the song “Partition” from her 2013 album “Beyoncé”, the singer referenced the former White House intern’s affair with then-president Bill Clinton, singing “He Monica Lewinsky-ed all on my gown.”
On Monday, Lewinsky tweeted, “uhmm, while we’re at it… #Partition” while sharing an article regarding the 40-year-old announcing she would remove a lyric from a new song.
Lewinsky received backlash for her tweet, with Twitter user writing, “rap song muse" is in your bio. you like the references. only relevance you have as of lately.”
The 49-year-old tweeted back, “actually, it’s how i’ve learned to deal with painful or humiliating things… i find the humor. eg in my ted talk.”
She shared in the tweet a video of her Ted talk entitled, “The price of shame.” In the talk, the self-described anti-bullying activist discussed "online bullying" and cited her experience dealing with the press after her affair with Clinton became public knowledge
In that same video, she addressed being mentioned in rap songs, recalling that during a Forbes 30 Under 30 summit, saying some of the attendees, “might have only heard of (Lewinsky) from rap songs. Yes, I’m in rap songs. Almost 40 rap songs.”
It’s not the first time Lewinsky addressed “Partition." In a 2014 interview with Vanity Fair, she addressed the song, saying, “Thanks, Beyoncé, but if we’re verbing, I think you meant ‘Bill Clinton’d all on my gown,’ not ‘Monica Lewinsky’d.’”
