Mysterious bullet strikes 9-year-old through door

A 9-year-old boy survived after a bullet sailed into his home and struck him over the weekend, according to police in Maryland.

He was struck when the bullet entered the front door of the Glen Burnie, Md., residence early Sunday morning, per a Facebook post. At around 1:45 a.m., the child was rushed to the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center emergency room.

Police cited by WBAL TV said the boy’s arm and chest were injured by the bullet. Anne Arundel County police are investigating doorbell camera footage to investigate where the mysterious shot came from.

“The parent of the victim indicated that the victim was struck by a projectile that entered through the front door of their residence in the 300 block of Lindera Court in Glen Burnie,” said police. “The victim was treated for serious, non-life-threatening injuries.”
