A man and a woman were kicked off of a Delta flight in Florida after they became unruly and started cursing at flight attendants before the airplane even left the ground.
The incident happened Tuesday at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport as Delta Flight 1582 was preparing to depart for Atlanta.
Witnesses said the plane was getting ready to take flight when one of the passengers, a woman, started causing a commotion.
"She was just yelling, just in general, everything she was saying, she was screaming, she was cursing like a sailor," Brianna Morfesi told NBC Miami. "If you go to a bar and there's a drunk person, she was that person on the plane."
When the attendants informed the pair that the plane was returning to the terminal and they were being kicked off the flight, the woman escalated, according to Morfesi, who filmed the interaction.
"The lady was like 'why am I being arrested?' That's all she kept saying," Morfesi told NBC Miami. "After [the flight attendant] explained to the couple what happened, she kind of gave her the bird and told her to F off."
It's not clear what caused the outburst.
Delta released a statement, confirming the incident took place.
"Delta has zero tolerance for unruly behavior at our airports and on our flights as nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and flight crews," the statement said.
The airline said the flight was delayed by about 28 minutes because of the ordeal, and it apologized for any inconvenience to the other passengers.
