Pirates offer for rare Skenes card declined, will go up for auction

The 1-of-1 Paul Skenes Debut Patch Autograph card pulled by an 11-year-old in California is putting it up for auction.

Fanatics Collect announced on Friday that the unidentified child and their family are selling the card.

That means the offer from the Pittsburgh Pirates for a trade was declined.

The Pirates were offering Two Pirates season tickets behind home plate for 30 years, a meet & greet with Skenes, two Skenes autographed jerseys, a softball game for 30 people at PNC Park with Pirates alum as coaches, a private tour of Pirates City and LECOM Park in Bradenton, Florida and a taking in a Pirates game with Livvy Dunne in her site at PNC Park.

The Pirates reacted to the decision on “X”.

Jeff Patton of Cranberry Card Castle told the Pomp & Joe show earlier this week the card will go for over $1 million and expects somewhere in the neighborhood of $1.5 million.

The card will be part of Fanatics Premier auction in March.

Proceeds from the card’s sale will be donated to LA Fire Relief funds.
