Police in and around Corsicana Tx. – the town made famous by the Netflix docu-series “Cheer” – are investigating the deaths of multiple gunshot victims as of Saturday.
Just after 12 a.m., the Corsicana Police Department received a 911 call about a known suspect who allegedly killed his family members, according to a press release.

Upon arrival at the 2900 block of W. 2nd Avenue, officers found an adult male and an adult female, both deceased. Another two victims who suffered non-fatal gunshot wounds were also located and transported via ambulance to a Dallas-area trauma center.
Additionally, the Navarro County Sherriff’s Department responded to a location near the intersection of Garrity and Stroud streets in Frost, Tx. There, authorities found an adult male and a child who suffered fatal gunshot wounds as well as an adult female with multiple gunshot wounds who was transported to a Dallas-area medical center.
Detectives were able to track down the shooting suspect’s vehicle through a GPS navigating system. Corsicana police units, Corsicana SWAT and Navarro County Sherriff’s deputies followed the suspect and intercepted him on FM-1129, just south of Roan Road.
“At that time, we instructed the monitoring service to remotely turn off the vehicle’s engine,” said Corsicana police.
When the vehicle came to a full stop in the roadway, Corsicana SWAT officers approached and found the suspect with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. A doctor administered medical aid at the scene and the suspect succumbed to his injuries after he was transported to Navarro Regional Hospital.
“The incident is still being investigated,” said police. “The names of the deceased are being withheld, pending notification of the next of kin.”
