According to a recent report, the tech giant Apple is considering raising the prices for some of its phones when they launch later this fall.
The report from Bloomberg suggests that Apple will bump the price for its pro model iPhones from their current starting prices.
Currently, the iPhone Pro model starts at $999, and the Max model, which has a bigger screen, starts at $1,099. The pricing model has been the same for Apple since it first started offering the high-end iPhone Pro models in 2019.
However, Apple looks to be changing it up as the newest top model could reportedly rise in price as a means to boost the company’s revenue after prices remained stagnant during the COVID-19 pandemic and last year’s inflation period.
Still, the reported change in pricing could be major, as Apple doesn’t tend to change its prices often, even last year for its iPhone 14, which was released during part shortages and economic turmoil.
The report from Bloomberg did not share what the expected pricing change would be.
Audacy has reported on other rumored changes coming to Apple’s latest edition of the iPhone. One of the most prominent rumors is the removal of Apple’s Lightning charger in exchange for a USB-C port instead. Others include an upgrade to the phone’s already powerful camera.
Last month Apple also made waves in the world of virtual reality when it released its new headset, which costs more than $3,500.
Apple Vision Pro has a ski-goggle design and helps immerse users in the world of VR. Apple announced the product during a keynote last month, and they are expected to ship sometime next year.
