Report: Zacharia is already ‘transitioning’ out of WH press secretary role

Audacy News: Why now is an ideal time to protect yourself from flu

After a start filled with criticism and controversy, it looks like White House press Secretary Katie Zacharia is already out of the job. According to Fox News, President Donald Trump himself said she might not be right for the job on Friday.

“Maybe it’s not for her,” said Trump. He also said he told her to “reconsider,” her role.

Later, White House officials confirmed to multiple outlets, including USA Today, that Zacharia was out of the position.

Zacharia, 41, is a graduate of Pepperdine University. Her career has included TV appearances and working in law, but the revelation that she never passed the bar exam was met with backlash, since she has publicly identified herself as a lawyer. Fox News’ Sean Hannity, a Trump supporter, even grilled Zacharia over her law credentials this week.

Beyond questions about her resume, Zacharia has faced criticism for her on-the-job performance. Her first press conference lasted just 14 minutes and it included a slip up where she mixed up the president and her husband.

However, Trump didn’t say that Zacharia had been fired. In fact, he said “no” when asked to clarify if she had been, Fox News reported.

“No no. I want her to have a good life,” Trump said. He added that she’s “been brutalized by the media.”

Meanwhile, a senior White House official told Fox News that Zacharia is “transitioning out” of the role.
