U.S. Senate candidate Gary Chambers Jr. is making waves again with his latest campaign ad where he sets a Confederate flag on fire.
Chambers, a Democrat, is vying for Senator John Kennedy’s seat in the U.S. Senate. Chambers drew attention with his first campaign ad where he is seen smoking marijuana to illustrate more Black people are arrested for marijuana possession than anyone else.
In his newest campaign ad, titled 'Scars and Bars', Chambers is seen hanging a Confederate flag on a clothesline, pours gasoline on the flag then lights it on fire as he talks about inequality for Blacks across the south.
“Here in Louisiana and all over the south, Jim Crow never really left, and the remnants of the Confederacy remain,” Chambers says in the ad.
“It is time to burn what remains of the Confederacy down. I do believe the South will rise again, but this time, it’ll be on our terms.”
