(KMOX) - A group of men on social media allegedly declared and have been promoting April 24 as a "national day" for committing acts of rape and sexual assault.
It's reported to have been started by six men on TikTok, according to Tech Times, and has caused viral reactions on multiple social media sites.
Some are warning women to "stay home" this Saturday to be safe:
One TikTok user suggests women should exercise their "2nd Amendment right" and "carry a pistol" to defend themselves this weekend.
Some on social media are prefacing the info with a "trigger warning" as there's a belief that the trend is just a joke:
A search on TikTok for "#April24th2021" bring up a number of videos about the declared day.
People are being asked to report videos on TikTok that promote violence of any kind. You can report the video by clicking the white arrow to the right of the video, tap the icon with a symbol of a flag that says “report” and choose the best reason from the list provided.
