Well, it's officially official -- Tom Brady has retired from the NFL after 22 seasons.
The quarterback posted a statement to his Instagram page on Tuesday morning, which comes following a few days of speculation following an ESPN report over the weekend that said he was retiring, but received push back from the Brady camp.
"This is difficult for me to write, but here it goes: I am not going to make that competitive commitment anymore. I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention," the post reads.
Brady goes on to thank members of the Buccaneers organization, as well as his family, long-time personal trainer Alex Guerrero, and others, but no mention of anyone with the Patriots.
The post closes with Brady noting how the future is exciting with the companies he's co-founded -- Autograph.io, Brady Brand and TB12 Sports.
