A murder suspect was killed by police after three people were fatally shot inside a Florida home in what investigators say was a tragic domestic violence incident.

Orlando police received a call around 2:30 a.m. Sunday about a domestic violence disturbance and heard shots fired inside the home as they arrived on the scene.

As more officers were called to the home, the suspect -- later identified as 28-year-old Lacorvis Tamar Daley -- exited the home and began firing at police.

"The officers returned fire and the suspect fell," Police Chief Eric Smith said during a press briefing.

Daley was taken to the hospital where he died.

Inside the home, police found an adult and a teenager killed by gunfire, as well as a child suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rushed the child to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The victims were later identified as Daley's 7-year-old son Cameron Bouie, his girlfriend's 13-year-old daughter Damionna Reed, and his girlfriend's 69-year-old mother Carole Fulmore, WESH reported. Daley's girlfriend, who was not home at the time of the shooting, placed the call to police about a disturbance at the home, according to the news station.

No officers were injured. Two officers involved in the gunfight have been placed on paid administrative leave while the incident remains under investigation, per department policy.
