Disturbing video shows the moment several gunmen jump out of a car and open fire on a pickup truck in the middle of busy traffic on Elysian Fields.
NOPD investigators say the shooting happened during rush hour traffic Monday evening in the 3800 block of Elysian Fields.
A nearby security camera caught the terrifying moments.
The video, obtained by WWLTV, shows a red Honda Accord that suddenly stops in the middle of traffic, then at least three gunmen jump out and unload a barrage of bullets into a white pickup truck as it passed by them. The gunmen then get back in the sedan and speed away. Several cars nearby can be seen speeding away in an attempt to escape the gunfire.
Investigators say an adult male inside the pickup truck was shot several times. The victim's truck then drives away. The victim’s condition is unknown.
