WCCO Radio obtained video of what appears to be the suspected Chinese surveillance balloon that was shot down Saturday along the South Carolina coast.

According to the Department of Defense, they were tracking the balloon this week as it floated across the U.S. near sensitive areas. Though China issued a statement claiming that the balloon was for research, the U.S. believes it was for surveillance.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken canceled a trip to Beijing after the balloon was detected.

In the video shared with WCCO anchor Rusty Ray by Radha Herring, viewers can apparently see the U.S. military shooting down the Chinese ballon.

“They destroyed it,” said a voice heard on the video.

Previously, the balloon was seen over Montana and on Friday, the National Weather Service Kansas City shared images of what may have been the balloon.
