Woman in custody after going on bat attack spree on other women in Chicago: police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - An arrest has been made in connection with a series of baseball bat attacks on Northwest Side women.

Police said the attacker was a woman. She was wanted in connection with a total of six attacks on nine women on the Northwest Side, Sunday and Tuesday. Police said the first incident Sunday afternoon, in the 4300 block of West Lawrence was similar to the others.

Two women, ages 31 and 19, were on a sidewalk when a white car pulled up. A woman got out with a bat and began hitting them. She then got back into the car and drove off.

There was only one case when a victim went to a hospital. She was reported in good condition.
