A Pennsylvania woman is facing multiple charges after she reportedly stabbed her son for "not shutting up" in the middle of the night.
Laura Stevens, 66, was taken into custody around 1:40 a.m. Sunday after responding officers found her son with a stab wound to his abdomen, the Hanover Evening Sun reported, citing an affidavit of probable cause.
Stevens admitted to officers that she stabbed her son because he wouldn't stop talking, and added that she "missed her mark" when she connected with his abdomen, her arrest report revealed.
A witness told police that Stevens was arguing with her son when he arrived and that he saw Stevens stab her son during the argument, according to the report. The son's age was not mentioned.
Stevens is facing charges of felony aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of a crime instrument, and harassment, according to the Hanover Borough Police Department. She was released Monday on $10,000 bail, the Evening Sun reported.
Her son is reportedly expected to recover.
