Don't throw out plastic yard signs: Here are 12 places in St. Louis area to recycle them

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Don't just throw away those corrugated plastic yards signs that were in support of a political candidate, amendment or social movement. There are plenty of opportunities throughout the greater St. Louis area where you can recycle them for free.

But there are a few things you need to know first:

1. These locations are only for corrugated plastic signs, not cardboard or paper. Those can be recycled via curbside as long as they're not laminated.
2. Break down the sign by detaching the metal wire stand from the sign itself. Then place each piece in the appropriate bin at the the locations below.
3. Before tossing your campaign sign, consider saving it for reuse or return to the campaign where it originated. A local school or nonprofit organization may be able to use the sign, too.
