Does the losing candidate have to deliver a concession speech?

Some are asking if President Trump is defeated by Joe Biden does he have to make a concession speech?

If you go back say 70 years or so, the tradition has been that the losing presidential candidate concedes to the winner.

But there is nothing in the United States Constitution mandating this.

Some experts think, if he does lose, Mr. Trump will concede.

But in his own way.

Ryan Neville-Shepard is an expert on political communication at the University of Arkansas says "He will give a concession that will be very much be a Donald Trump concession."

"Not one that Democrats want to hear but he will continue the narrative of probably a deep state and a government that doesn't represent his supporters and probably build a narrative or perhaps even a re-election campaign in four years," he says.

Typically, losing presidential candidates give a concession speech to show the unity of the American public.
