ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - Recent polls on the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election has shown Kamala Harris could be more worthy challenger to Donald Trump than Joe Biden was.

In recent polls in key battleground states like Michigan and Pennsylvania, Harris is polling quite well against Trump. In Michigan, Harris holds a 11-point lead. In Nevada, Arizona and Wisconsin, Harris has a two-point lead. In Pennsylvania, Harris is trailing Trump by four-points and is tied with Trump in Georgia.

John Hancock and Michael Kelley of 'Hancock and Kelley' joined Total Information A.M. on KMOX to discuss the polls numbers.

"It's not good right now if you like Donald Trump," said Hancock. "This race is pretty much where it should be because it is an evenly divided country."

"It has tightened up a lot more quickly than I anticipated, but it has tightened up."

Hancock believes Trump has such a huge lead due to President Joe Biden having a lot more unfavorable ratings and there was a group of 'double-haters' that hated both Trump and Biden according to Hancock.

"Trump was doing well with the group of voters in a head-to-head with Joe Biden," said Hancock. "Well as group, the numbers of double-haters have shrunk with Harris now is the nominee. Trump now has to move over and grab some of the independent votes in the key states. There's a lot of time to go but it's a tight race."
