All eyes are on the traditional blue wall for the Democrats of Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania as the election slides through day two with razor-thin margins between Republican President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden, his Democratic challenger.
While Pennsylvania has one million votes still uncounted and Michigan awaits tallies from Detroit -- where 600 volunteers are recording the results of 280,000 ballots -- Wisconsin is closing in on results. Election officials said Wednesday afternoon they were within a few hundred votes of finishing the count.

Specifically, Ann Jacobs, chairwoman of the Wisconsin Elections Commission, said there were 300 votes left to count in southwest Wisconsin.
With that news, Trump’s campaign manager Bill Stepien said the president plans to “immediately” request a recount. Many pundits say there's no clear path to the White House without Pennsylvania and at least one of the others -- Michigan or Wisconsin. Trump carried both of traditionally Democratic states in 2016.
There were 21,000 votes separating Trump and Biden in the latest Wisconsin numbers, with Biden narrowly ahead.
And per the Associated Press, Wisconsin allows a recount if a race is within 1 percentage point.
Stepien says in a statement Wednesday: “The President is well within the threshold to request a recount and we will immediately do so.”
