NEW YORK (WCBS 880) — The blog started by former President Donald Trump less than a month ago has been permanently shut down.
The former president launched his communications platform, “From the Desk of Donald J. Trump,” in early May after being banned from Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Twitter following the deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.
The platform was created to give Trump “the ability to communicate directly with his followers.”
However, on Wednesday, the page was scrubbed from Trump’s website, less than one month after its creation.
Jason Miller, a senior aide for Trump, told CNBC that the page will “not be returning.”
“It was just auxiliary to the broader efforts we have and are working on,” Miller told the outlet via email.
No further details were provided regarding why the communications platform was shut down.
Miller was asked on Twitter if the move to shut down the communications platform was a “precursor” to the former president joining another social media platform, to which he responded: “Yes, actually, it is.
Stay tuned!”
It remains unclear as to which platform Trump may be joining – or if another social media platform is in the works.
