The Foundation Fighting Blindness is a nationwide organization whose mission is to drive research that provides prevention and treatment for retinal diseases. It's been around for 50 years, and has raised over $856 million in support of its efforts to reverse blindness and restore vison.
Mary Morgan Corbit is the president of the St. Louis chapter of the foundation. After a diagnosis of retinitis pigmentosa, her vision was reduced to 10 to 15 degrees. She found hope in the foundation, which hosts vision seminars and a speaker series to offer support to individuals and families dealing with vision loss.
