ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - The St. Louis Cardinals offseason has not yet begun, but the team will lose a member of the dugout before the offseason even begins.
Cardinals Assistant Hitting Coach Daniel Nicholaisen is set to join the Ole Miss softball coaching staff, the university announced on X, formerly known as Twitter Thursday.
Nicholaisen expressed his excitement to join the Ole Miss coaching staff on X, posting a picture of his family wearing Ole Miss colors and holding a Rebels flag.
Before joining the Cardinals managerial staff this season, Nicolaisen spent three years in the Cardinals farm system, quickly rising through the ranks. Nicolaisen served various roles in the Cardinals farm system, first as a hitting coach for Palm Beach in 2021, and then a assistant hitting coordinator in the farm system last season.
Nicholaisen does have previous experience coaching college softball. Nicolaisen was an assistant softball coach at Seton Hall for three seasons before joining the Cardinals. Along with that, he was previously a softball school instructor at the Danish Softball Federation in his native country of Denmark.
