COMNEBOL announces venue sites for 2024 Copa America, including a stadium in Missouri

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) - COMNEBOL, the governing body for soccer in South America announced the venue sites for the 2024 Copa America and it feature two sites for Missouri soccer fans to attend.

GEHA Field in Kansas City, Missouri and Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas, will chosen as apart of 14 cites to host games for the 2024 Copa America in the summer, COMNEBOL announced Monday.


Of the 14 sites to host one of the largest continental tournaments in international soccer, seven of them, including GEHA Field in Kansas City, Missouri, are also set to be sites for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The 2024 Copa America will be the second time the United States has hosted the South American Tournament. The country previously hosted the Copa America Centenario in 2016, with Chile emerging as the victor.

United States fans in Missouri have a chance to see the United States National Team in Kansas City. While the official group draw isn't until Dec. 7, the U.S. is already designated as the first team in Group C. They will visit Kansas City, Missouri and GEHA Field on July 1st to take on whichever team is designated as the second team in Group C.

Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas, meanwhile will host the teams designated as the second and fourth in Group A, who group will have the defending Copa America and current World Cup winner Argentina.

The 2024 Copa America is set to begin on June 20, with the final set for July 14 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.
