SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KMOX) - An incident that began with dogs trying to bite each other led to one man stabbing the other man outside a motel in Missouri, police say.
A man staying at a Motel 6 in Springfield, Missouri took his dog out for a walk on Saturday around 3:30 p.m. Another man staying at the Econo Lodge, which was right next door, was also walking with his dog.
Police say there's a fence between the properties, but the dogs started barking at each other and were able to get through the fence enough to try to bite the other. The two men who were walking the dogs then began to argue, which led to one man stabbing the other.
The victim was taken to the hospital with a non-life-threatening stab wound to his upper chest, while the suspect was taken into custody, police say. No charges have been announced, according to KY3.com.
Police say the men didn't know each other and that the stabbing victim had a room at the Motel 6, while the suspect was staying at Econo Lodge.
