(KMOX) - Baseball fans will soon be able to get a special Missouri license plate honoring its history.

The Missouri Legislature gave final passage to a bill that would make Negro Leagues Baseball Museum license plates available in the state.

"Simply put, the Negro Leagues helped shape the game of baseball that we see today. It's part of the reason baseball is America's Pastime," sponsor of the bill, Rep. Michael Johnson, said.

The cost will be just $10, which is relatively low for a specialty plate in Missouri. Applicants will also need to pay $15 in regular registration fees. The measure, SB 189, passed the Senate and now awaits signature from Governor Mike Parson.
