ROLLA, MISSOURI (KMOX) - An 18-year-old man drowned in the Meramec River in Crawford County Friday. Sgt. Mike Mitchell of Missouri Highway Patrol Troop I says Logan Wright of St. James jumped off a bridge into the river, and did not resurface. This happened just before noon near Thurman Lake Road. Friends were able to recover Wright from below the water and attempted to revive him. When EMS arrived, the teen was declared dead at the scene. The investigation report says the victim was wearing a safety device, but did not specify what kind.
